A YOUNG Irish woman who recently emigrated to Singapore has been found dead in her bed by a friend.

Orla Daly was originally from Clontarf in Dublin and had moved to the Queenstown district of Singapore eight months ago to work in sales.

The circumstances surrounding the 25-year-old’s death are uncertain at present.

More News:

In May she posted messages on Twitter telling friends that she was “absolutely loving” living and working abroad and that she “couldn’t be happier, everything has fallen into place”.

Tributes to Ms Daly, who was also an up-and-coming DJ, have flooded in. One friend said she was “young, beautiful and full of life”, adding “Orla was a girl who would make time for anyone, she was a dedicated friend”.

Ms Daly’s family have been in touch with  Fr Larry White, their local priest at St Anthony’s Parish in Clontarf, who appealed for privacy at this time.

The Department of Foreign Affairs has confirmed that it is providing consular assistance to the young woman’s parents, who are believed to be currently travelling to the Southeast Asian country.
