Video: Irishman’s staged altercation with breastfeeding woman on Tube riles up fellow passengers

AN IRISHMAN in London has gone viral for his extreme reaction to a woman breastfeeding on the Tube – but it’s all for a social experiment.

Offaly-born actor James Slattery, 36, was recruited for the video by Trollstation, a YouTube channel that regularly tackles controversial topics for its social experiments.

In the video, James takes on a breastfeeding woman – also an actress – to see how people react.

More News:

“Just go onto another carriage. Irish people don’t expose themselves like this,” he says in the video, addressing the breastfeeding mother.

After a couple of minutes of a heated exchange between the actors, the other Tube passengers get involved.

Watch the video and judge for yourself – do you think the other passengers were right?

When I was first told about this I was not told it was a fake and I thought "here we go again, some gobshite embarrassing us emigrants".

What a great prank. Fair dues to the actors but especially to the lad who intervened.

My son, now 23, was breastfed elegantly and tastefully in any location that met his and his mother's needs. Most famously in the bar of the Pines on Whitehall Road but also in restaurants and other locations in Vancouver where we live. Not quite as brash as The Tube but for the few remaining social luddites who objected I offer a middle finger digital salute.

a small child is hungry nearly all the time (especially breastfed babies as mother's milk has less calories than a formula)...so Patricia you are basically saying to a mother who is breastfeeding to either not leave the house until the baby starts eating solid, or let the child be hungry for (how long?) until she gets back home... awful! She was covered and discreet, nothing wrong with her feeding the baby in public...and by the way - it is her RIGHT (it is a law!)
