Looking forward to a great future

More News:

I can recall quite vividly the hive of activity in these offices around the newly constructed Irish Post news desk in its first few weeks. The team worked long and hard in those formative weeks, showing their commitment to getting the paper back out to the community and as the new owner it proved a real eye-opener to the work that goes into the paper and its importance to our readership.

Over the year I have spent time visiting Irish centres and organisations across the country and through such interactions I have realised as the owner of the title I have a great business but also a real responsibility – a responsibility to the vast Irish community to which the paper provides a vital communication channel. In that respect it’s been a particularly busy year. We have partnered and sponsored numerous events, including the youth Gaelic games ABC Tournament and the IYF Hibernian Hero Award, and we continue to campaign on the issues that matter to our readers – most recently in our Aisling Project campaign which successfully raised nearly £30,000 for the charity. When you take the time to look back on all our activities you see just how important the Irish Post remains to the community it serves – the Irish in Britain – and of all the publications serving the Irish abroad I genuinely believe we are the best.

We have another exciting year ahead where we will to continue to drive the paper forward while giving back to the community across Britain. This year we tentatively explored our digital offering, next year we will make greater strides with this and have already appointed a Digital Editor in order to do so. We are also planning to hold a special event in the West of Ireland next year, one which we hope to bring a number of readers along to, so we look forward to revealing more information about that. Ultimately we know now what we saved 12 months ago. The Irish Post is a great paper, packed with information and relevant content with the community at its heart.

It’s a pleasure to read, it’s a pleasure to own and for me purchasing the title is one of the best decisions I ever made.
