Liverpool’s Cairde na hÉireann has called for a zero tolerance approach to anti-Irish racism in the city following the publication of a report into far right and loyalist attacks on Irish marches last year. Communities across Britain are being asked to unite against similar anti-Irish sentiment, while police and other statutory bodies are being called on to protect against hate crime.
Mama Tina! – the movie
A movie based on the life of Irish philanthropist Christina Noble has started filming in Britain. Noble, starring Moone Boy’s Deirdre O’Kane in the lead role, tells the inspirational true story of Dublin woman Christina, who set up a charity to help underprivileged children in Vietnam and Mongolia.
