DUSTIN Hoffman has joined the cast of Stephen Frears’ upcoming biopic about American cyclist Lance Armstrong.
Hoffman (Meet The Fockers, Finding Neverland) will join when production moves to the U.S. for the final stages of filming.
Irish comedian Chris O’Dowd was previously cast as David Walsh, the Sunday Times sports journalist who exposed the Armstrong doping scandal.
Lee Pace (The Hobbit) has also joined the cast, however, the roles of Pace and Hoffman are currently unknown.
The film marks the second collaboration between Hoffman and Frears after 1992’s The Accidental Hero.
The script was written by John Hodge from Walsh’s book Seven Deadly Sins: My Pursuit of Lance Armstrong.
Frears (Philomena, The Queen) will direct the film which will also see appearances from Breaking Bad‘s Jesse Plemons and French actor Guillaume Canet.
The film is currently shooting on location in Europe.
It is produced by Studiocanal U.K.
