Dissidents target Irish recruits in British Army
The Continuity Army has issued a chilling death threat against Irish citizens in the British Army. The threat comes less than a month after it was revealed gardaí in Limerick foiled a plot to murder a British soldier who was due to visit his home in the city over Christmas.
Violence in the streets
Unrest continues in Belfast this week with continued rioting in the city’s streets. Loyalist violence, linked to the flying of the union flag at City Hall, has led to dozens of arrests while scores of police officers have also been injured in the attacks.

Tributes have been paid to GAA great Dr John McAndrew, whose funeral takes place this week. The sportsman is one of the most decorated GAA players outside of Ireland. He was a member of Mayo’s double All-Ireland winning team, 1950-1951.
