The Irish Post has an opportunity for digital reporters to join our team on www.irishpost.co.uk.
We are looking for enthusiastic, hard-working and creative people with a proven track record in sourcing and writing digital news and features.
The successful candidate will have excellent writing skills, be full of ideas for engaging stories that will drive traffic online and able to fit in in a fast-paced newsroom.
The ability to create and produce compelling original content daily and find imaginative angles when it comes to news and features is essential.
You will have strong organisational skills, excellent attention to detail and be able to demonstrate an understanding of Irish issues.
An understanding of what makes brilliant, shareable digital video content is vital.
You should be a natural with social media and understand how to share stories across all social media platforms, including Facebook, Twitter, Google +, Snapchat, and Instagram
You will have formal journalism training or a proven track record in journalism.
An Irish background or strong knowledge of the Irish community is beneficial but not essential.
You should have excellent knowledge of CMS, WordPress is preferable but not essential.
The successful candidate will be based in our London offices.
Your responsibilities will include:
Sourcing, writing and sub-editing news and features
Producing original and engaging content – collate, write and edit web-focused content to include lists and viral videos
Selecting and editing photos, audio and video and putting content online
Social media: You will be writing and editing social posts, scheduling social media to cover out-of-office
